1. The general rule is: add S

2. For nouns ended in -O, -CH, -SH, -SS, -X and -Z we make the plural adding the suffix -ES:

In American English, the sound of "s" depends on which sound comes before it. No Inglês Americano, o som de "s" depende de que som vem antes dele.
If the noun ends in an unvoiced consonant sound: /f/, /k/, /p/, /t/, /th/-(thin), pronounce "s" as /s/. Se o substântivo termina em um som de consoante mudo: /f/, /k/, /p/, /t/, /th/-(thin), , pronuncia "s" como/s/.
